Beginning Watercolor – Crealde@Home
Let's get started – Watercolor is a mysterious medium. Once you learn the basics, you will paint the rest of your life. In this class, we will discuss necessary supplies, learn techniques and practice color mixing to get you on your watercolor journey. Be prepared to paint during this class.
Tube paints • Alizarin Crimson • Cadmium Red Medium • Gamboge Yellow • Pale Yellow or Lemon Yellow • Pthalo Blue • Ultramarine Blue • Pthalo Green • Yellow Ochre • Burnt Sienna • Burnt Umber Paper • 2 sheets 140 lb cold press “Arches” watercolor paper only Brush • # 10 round brush ( good quality) • 2 inch flat wash brush ( optional) Palette • watercolor palette: white plastic plate, butchers tray. Please no round plastic/metal palettes Misc. • 2 containers for water ( cottage cheese containers size) • Paper towels, pencil, sponge, spray bottle, masking fluid (optional)
Patty Kane’s passion is painting with transparent watercolor using a limited palette. She says, “it is a process, which allows me to explore subject matter that inspires my creativity and passion for mixing colors”.
Patty has won many awards for her Florida-themed paintings, most recently The People’s Choice Award at 1st Thursdays at Orlando Museum of Art and the “Lee Ackert” Award for Outstanding Color at Fort Myers Beach Art Association. She was granted “Art Educator of the Year” at the Center for the Arts of Bonita Springs in 2010 and received a “Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition” for Keeping Hope Alive Through Art at an exhibition in Winter Park, Florida.Instructor Bio
