Here’s a chance to sit around the table and play. Learn to use the pinch forming method to make small heads. Manipulate the clay from inside the form to enhance facial features before closing it up. Design a base for the head as you make it. The second meeting will be dedicated to decorating and glazing. Skill level: All

We will explore how to design and make a consistent series of work. Jeff will share techniques and tricks learned from many sources while working as a production potter around the world. In this demonstration workshop, Jeff will create a large piece on the wheel using a sectional approach. He will throw the base for the piece and add successive thrown rings to achieve the finished form using a combination of techniques. Design from idea to finished form will also be covered and participants will see how to throw pottery pieces limited only by the size of their kiln.

In this hands-on workshop Jeff will lead participants in the creation of large pieces on the wheel using a sectional approach. We will begin with a discussion of design and how to construct large pieces from idea to finished form. We will throw a base for the piece and add successive thrown rings to achieve the finished form using a combination of techniques. Participants will learn to construct pieces based on whatever ability to center and raise walls with which they are comfortable.

Gingerbread House of Clay: Child and Adult workshop (ages 5 & up)

Create a clay, chalet and adorn it with faux candy pieces and cookie shapes. Complete the look with colorful glazes and dripping snow. Place a votive inside this everlasting gingerbread house to bring the warmth of the holidays to light! This is an adult and child workshop. Single adults welcome.
