Watercolor Wet On Wet Bootcamp

This class stresses the importance of control of your wet vs dry layers to achieve amazing colors in your paintings. The focus will be on practice, practice, practice – not the finished piece. Each week a new color, compositional, or technical strategy will be introduced. This approach will ensure confidence needed to paint for the rest of your life!

Required Supplies

Wet on Wet Watercolor Bootcamp
Supplies
140 lb Arches paper approximately 11” x 14”
Yellows: lemon yellow or winsor yellow or aureolin
Reds: permanent rose, burnt sienna, and alizarin crimson or rose madder
Blues: cobalt, ultramarine blue, cerulean, phthalo blue (please buy chemical #PB15:3 – it is the most pure phthalo blue)
A Large round brush (#30 Goliath Robert Simmons is my Fav!)
½” or 1” flat brush
#10 round
scrubber brush (used to lift paint)

Other Materials
A board and masking tape (board is to tape your paper to)
Hair dryer
Pencil, eraser
Small sketch book (5” x 7”)
1 cloth or rag (the size of washcloth or dishcloth)
Tracing and Graphite Paper (NOT necessary)




Instructor

Patty Kane

Patty Kane's passion is painting with transparent watercolor using a limited palette. She says, "it is a process, which allows me to explore subject matter that inspires my creativity and passion for mixing colors".

Patty has won many awards for her Florida-themed paintings, most recently The People's Choice Award at 1st Thursdays at Orlando Museum of Art and the "Lee Ackert" Award for Outstanding Color at Fort Myers Beach Art Association. She was granted "Art Educator of the Year" at the Center for the Arts of Bonita Springs in 2010 and received a "Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition" for Keeping Hope Alive Through Art at an exhibition in Winter Park, Florida.
