Enhance the beauty of your watercolor paintings by adding texture, contrast, and fine details using colored pencils and pens. Use these tools to highlight focal points, shade, add patterns, and bring a new take to your watercolors.

Required Supplies

Watercolor Fusion
Student Material List
Watercolors: Tubes or pans, basic palette with primary colors plus a few earth tones
Paper: Heavyweight watercolor paper (140 lb / 300 gsm recommended)
Brushes: Variety of round and flat brushes (sizes 2, 4, 8, 12)
Colored Pencils (optional- I will have them in class for student use): Artist-quality pencils with good pigmentation (e.g., Prismacolor, Faber-Castell)
Pens: Waterproof fine liners in various sizes (e.g., 0.1mm, 0.3mm, 0.5mm)
Palette: For mixing watercolor
Water containers: For rinsing brushes
Pencil sharpener and eraser
Masking tape: To secure paper and create clean edges (optional)
Sketching pencils: For initial drawing (HB or 2B)


Instructor

Fabiola Hansen

Experienced in engaging seniors and youth, art educator Fabiola Hansen is a welcome inspiration to the students she teaches through the Outreach Programs offered by Crealdé School of Art, including the Hands-on Art Sampler Classes at the Hannibal Square Heritage Center and Easter Seals Daybreak Program at the Miller Center in Winter Park. Hansen earned her degree in Art Education from the University of Central Florida, and she has been teaching at Crealdé since 1998. Throughout the years, Hansen has continued her art studies, taking courses in Brazil, Italy and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. She has exhibited her work in art galleries throughout the United States and Brazil. Locally her work has been seen at Casselberry City Hall, Orlando Science Center and Barnett Bank.
