Travel Florida Backroads to Palatka & the Historic Ravine Gardens

Discover hidden architectural, cultural and natural treasures along Highway 17 on the way to Florida's historic river town of Palatka. Located on the scenic St. Johns River, the city features the unique Ravine Gardens State Park, which was developed by the Federal Works Progress Administration in the 1930s. In addition to the historic structures, the ravine trails and the picturesque creek are lined with thousands of azaleas each winter. Lunch will be provided.
Architectural Photography of Local Landmarks
Using some of Central Florida’s historical treasures, learn to capture the photographic potential of the interior and exterior of the built environment — residential, commercial, monumental, historic, and contemporary. The class covers lighting techniques, from available light to multiple and mixed lighting, and image postproduction, including multiple exposure, and high dynamic range processing so that students realize their vision in final images. The course will include assignments and Saturday field trips.
